Specialty Doctor In Ophthalmology

We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Specialist Doctor in Ophthalmology on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Ophthalmology department.

Our client currently provides comprehensive general ophthalmology services.
There is a well-established Macular unit treating Maculopathy (AMD and Non-AMD) along with retina service, glaucoma, cornea, and oculoplastics.
They have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various Consultant-led services.
Our client provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life-threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case, and inpatient surgery.
In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities.

The successful appointee will be joining an ophthalmology department of 12 Consultants and 9 Associate Specialists.
The appointee will be asked to fulfill duties such as:
Providing outpatient news & review clinics including urgent referrals.Preparing patients for elective and emergency consultant theatre sessions.Dealing with both routine and emergency admissions.Taking part in the on-call rota and providing prospective cover.Participating in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings.Actively participating in continuing medical education.Participating in clinical audit & demonstrating evidence-based practice where appropriate. Additional Information:
