Job summary EasingtonSouth mental health team caters to anarea of practice in Co Durham region.
Following a Kaizen event in February2020, adult community mental health services in Durham/ Darlington underwentinternal re-organization but due to Covid it was postponed until September2021.
The team function has changed from previously being Affective disorderteam to now having become a generic CMHT.
This model is in line with CMHTtransformation and is better aligned to PCN.
The team is based at Merrick HouseEasington , with a large community baseshared with Access Service and Easington North Community Intervention team .The Team provides secondary mental health service input for all mental healthconditions for working age adult population.
We receive referrals mostly fromGP surgeries via central Access team and other sources such as Crisis team/Liaison Psychiatry/ wards.
We cater to patients with significant mental healthdifficulties such as mood disorders/ schizophrenia/ bipolar disorder/personality disorder and adult neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD/Autism.
The Team is able to obtain expert advice from Trust-wide specialistservices which include an ADHD service; the Autism Spectrum Assessment Team andthe Eating Disorder service.
The Trust has access to the Regional AffectiveDisorders Service in Newcastle.
Main duties of the job Clinical duties of post holder Newpatient assessments 1-2 per week Followup clinics.
Approximately 4-6 patientsper week PeriodicHome visits.
1-2 per month MDT meetings.
Formulationmeetings.
Clinicalleadership.
MentalHealth Act assessments.
Rarely, 1-2 per month.
Outof hours middle tier rota .Clinicload will be kept relatively free to accommodate travel/ assessments involved.The post holder will be expected to provide clinical support to the team inconjunction with the Team Manager, Team Psychologists and AdvancedPractitioners.
They will attend team meetings and the leadership team meetingwith Team Manager and Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
Post holder will be workingalongside Consultant Psychiatrist Core trainee and Non-medical prescribers inthe Team.
There is no inpatient commitment, but close liaison with In-patientConsultant colleagues is expected regarding individual service users ifadmitted to an in-patient bed.

Person Specification Teaching & Training Essential Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training.
Desirable Evidence of achievement in education, research, audit and service improvement: awards, prizes, presentations and publications.
CPD & Appraisal Essential Participated in continuous professional development.
Evidence of annual appraisal and commitment to appraisal and revalidation.
Qualifications Essential MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
At least 4 years postgraduate experience, including at least 2 years in a core psychiatry training programme in UK or abroad Approved under S12 of MHA OR able to achieve within 6 months of appointment.
Desirable MRCPsych or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
Clinical Knowledge & Skills Essential Good knowledge of psychiatry.
Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
Desirable Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
Research, Audit & Quality Improvement Essential Has actively participated in clinical audit.
Desirable Shows commitment to quality through knowledge of quality improvement and lean thinking methodology.
Participated in research and/or service improvement.
