Job summary The Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit to a WTE Specialty Doctor Post for Maple Leaf Community Mental Health Team.
We are looking for a candidate with full GMC registration, Section 12 approval and holding at least 4 years' experience or equivalent in postgraduate training with at least 2 years experience in Psychiatry.
MRCPsych, at least Part 1 or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry is desirable.

Main duties of the job The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Consultant Psychiatrist as well as the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team.
Maple Leaf CMHT is part of the Solihull Community Hub.
There are separate community teams for Older adults and Assertive Outreach Teams.
There is also a dedicated Home treatment team located nearby at the Zinnia Centre.
Whilst this is a service post, the successful candidates' career development will be strongly supported, looking to further training or a specialist interest.

Job description Job responsibilities You will work closely in a multi-disciplinary way with the other members of the CMHT (Junior Doctors, Specialist Trainees, Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs), an excellent group of CPNs, OTs, psychologists and psychotherapists with various approaches, physical health practitioners, and Dietician).
You will assess patients with a range of difficulties, up to a moderate complexity, with the support of your named Consultant.
You will carry a caseload and your patients will have access to a daily, robust duty system when in crisis.

Person Specification Scoring Essential Recognised medical degree.
Full GMC registration with a licence to practice Eligible for approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act (1983) Completed at least four years' full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be within a psychiatry training programme or as a fixed term specialty trainee within psychiatry; or have equivalent experience and competencies.
Commitment to personal programme of Continuing Professional Development.
At least two years' experience of working in psychiatry, including working with people suffering from severe mental illness, preferably in a community setting Experience of teaching and training at an undergraduate/postgraduate level Commitment to clinical audit and quality improvement within multi-disciplinary team.
Flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing service needs.
Ability to work creatively within multi-disciplinary team.
Demonstrable interest in the provision of gender sensitive mental health service Able to travel across the community base area Desirable MRCPsych or equivalent Approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act (1983) Broad clinical training in psychiatry including both inpatient and community service Experience serving a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic population.
Experience of providing psychological and/or social interventions.
Experience of contributing to or completion of a service improvement project Completed clinically relevant audit projects Skills in working with individuals who are difficult to engage.
