SPECIALIST SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPIST - Band 7 £46,148 - £52,809 per annum, pro rata The successful candidate's main duties and responsibilities will include: Being responsible for implementing recommendations from a comprehensive review of our current service provision in relation to people experiencing swallow and communication difficulties.
Providing specialist support and care to patients who have difficulties with communication and swallow.
Supporting the audit and evaluation of quality improvements and initiatives aimed at improving the delivery of palliative and end of life care for people who have difficulties with communication, eating, drinking and swallow.
Providing clinical leadership on evidence-based approaches to palliative and end of life care, as well as working collaboratively with other professionals to improve the identification and management of people who have difficulties with communication, eating, drinking and swallowing.
To undertake a review of current support and develop a strategy for supporting Dorothy House patients with communication needs including Communication Partner Training for people with dementia alongside Admiral Nursing Service Ensuring that care is delivered in accordance with relevant local and national guidelines and all relevant Dorothy House Hospice's policies See our full detailed Job Description on our website for more information.
HOURS OF WORK This is a Part Time position of 22.5 hours per week.
ABOUT YOU Essential requirements: Speech and Language Therapy professional qualification Registration with the HCPC Experience of leading clinical practice, service development or project work including audits Experience of representing Speech and Language Therapy within a service and Organisation Experience of developing and delivering training programmes Ability to work autonomously Understanding of national guidelines and standards relevant to swallow and communication Desirable requirements Relevant post qualification clinical experience working with people who have end of life care needs.
