An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic Physiotherapist to join our band 6 rotations within the Children's Therapy Department in Southampton Children's Hospital.

Job description Job responsibilities The post holder will gain experience in multiple Paediatric Therapy specialities during 9 month rotations and will be supported to develop their skills through in-service training and suitable courses.
The month rotations will include in-patients, outpatients, regional clinics and working in Naomi House and Jacks place Hospice: providing expert hospice based therapeutic care to more than 550 life-limited and life-threatened children, young people and their extended families from across southern England.
The successful applicants will be supported within the specialities by specialist Paediatric therapists; OTs and Physios, allowing excellent opportunity for further developing clinical and theoretical skills.
They will work in a dynamic and proactive Therapy team participating in regular audits and teaching.
This team is part of the wider combined Therapy service, consisting of OTs, Physios and Therapy support staff, working across a 7-day service within UHS.
The Childrens Hospital is one of 10 largest childrens hospitals within the UK and located within University Hospital Southampton which is a large regional teaching hospital with links to the university and Wellcome Trust research facility.
Childrens services have been graded as good by CQC.
We have a vast range of Paediatric specialities including a level 3 PICU, and being a designated Major Trauma, neurosurgical, neuro-rehabilitation and cardiac centre.
The neonatal services are housed within The Princess Anne Hospital (PAH).
Bursledon House is located on the Southampton General Hospital site and is a highly specialised inpatient paediatric/psychiatric unit, providing assessment and treatment of serious chronic illness using holistic, medical and psychological models of treatment.
At UHS the post holder would join a friendly and close-knit Therapy team with a range of clinical experience.
The team prides itself in providing support, progression and development.
The successful post holder will be expected to work within our team philosophy, which is We strongly believe in team working in a happy working environment.
Workloads are shared and communication/ support is strongly encouraged.
We are mutually responsible for the service and its development and expect everyone to carry out a certain level of responsibility.
It is a fast-paced environment where effective communication, prioritisation, and delegation skills are essential.
This specialist B6 Physiotherapy role includes 9-month rotations in:- Respiratory care: Intensive care, high dependency, medicine and surgery- Neurology (1): Acute inpatient rehabilitation- Neurology (2): Bursledon House rehabilitation unit, neuro-oncology and neurology.- Orthopaedics: Inpatient: trauma, elective, neuro-orthopaedics.
Outpatients.- MSK.-Largely outpatient, groups, hydrotherapy caseloads.- Neonatology: Inclusive of neonatal unit, high care, inpatients and outpatients.- Neuromuscular: Regional clinics and outpatients- Naomi House and Jacks place Hospice Key duties: You will undertake a specialised paediatric clinical caseload of complex patients as an autonomous practitioner.
You will use a range of assessment and treatment skills to support children and young people and their families.
As a regional centre you will provide specialised clinical therapy advice both within the Trust and externally You would be expected to be involved with service development supporting clinical pathways.
You will be involved in supporting education and training to students, in house staff and staff across our regional network.
Active participation in the Out-of-Hours Trustwide Respiratory on-call service, including adults and children.

Essential skills and qualifications: Qualified Physiotherapist with a broad range of post-qualification experience Current HCPC registration Experience working as a Physiotherapist in Paediatrics Evidence of experience using specialist equipment, including respiratory Experience doing shifts within an acute respiratory on-call out of hours service - including intensive care, both adults and children.
Experience as a student supervisor.
Clear desire for wanting to work in UHS therapy service on your application form.
Clear expressed desire and reason for working in Paediatrics.
Clear expressed desire for working in UHS Therapy services.
Car driver, for working between hospital sites and clinics.
Able to work in hydrotherapy pool and be water-confident Have clear written and verbal communication.
