The Role NHS Lanarkshire has an exciting opportunity to expand our current team of Specialist radiographers at University Hospital Wishaw, to supplement our OOH service.
The Specialist Radiographer will justify / authorise and perform Radiographic examinations, providing direct care and a high quality diagnostic imaging service for the management of patients referred from clinicians and other referrers in NHS Lanarkshire and will supervise Radiographers and SHCSW ensuring continuity of service delivery.

What we'll need you to bring Registered Radiographer with valid HCPC Registration Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
Effective time management skills Working knowledge of basic information technology It would be great if you also have College of Radiographers IV injection certificate existing NHS Scotland experience working at Band 6 level.
CT, mammo or angio experience Relevant clinical experience at radiographer grade with proven competencies in applying theory to practice Training on relevant equipment Training on Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2000 Ability to train student radiographers Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA licence Ability to participate in Out of Hours working Contract type Permanent Full time & Part Time positions available Various hours Please note for part time posts the salary for these positions will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Pattern This role will be based in Radiology within University Hospital Wishaw.

From 1 April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced.
Full-time hours will reduce from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.
NHS Lanarkshire will implement this change but it may not be possible to fully transition from 1 April and there may therefore be some areas of the organisation where implementation may take longer.
If the department is currently unable to safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety - you will, of course, be remunerated accordingly.
NHS Lanarkshire is committed to full implementation of the 37 hour working week across all areas as soon as it is safe to do so.
