The RoleNHS Lanarkshire has an exciting opportunity to expand our current team of Specialist radiographers at University Hospital Wishaw, to supplement our OOH service.
The Specialist Radiographer will justify / authorise and perform Radiographic examinations, providing direct care and a high quality diagnostic imaging service for the management of patients referred from clinicians and other referrers in NHS Lanarkshire and will supervise Radiographers and SHCSW ensuring continuity of service delivery.NHS LanarkshireHave you always wanted to work with NHS Lanarkshire?

NHS Lanarkshire is comprised of Acute Services (which currently provide hospital based services over 3 main sites), Corporate & Property & Support Services, North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas.What we'll need you to bringRegistered Radiographer with valid HCPC RegistrationEducated to/working towards/operating at Degree LevelPost graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualificationThe post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiativeExcellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.Effective time management skillsWorking knowledge of basic information technologyIt would be great if you also haveCollege of Radiographers IV injection certificateexisting NHS Scotland experience working at Band 6 level.CT, mammo or angio experienceRelevant clinical experience at radiographer grade with proven competencies in applying theory to practiceTraining on relevant equipmentTraining on Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2000Ability to train student radiographersCar driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA licenceAbility to participate in Out of Hours workingContract typePermanent Full time & Part Time positions availableVarious hoursPlease note for part time posts the salary for these positions will be pro-rata.Location and Working PatternThis role will be based in Radiology within University Hospital Wishaw.The working pattern for this role: 24/7 365Looking to find out more?If you're looking to find out more, then we would love to hear from you!
