North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust We are looking to recruit a B6 podiatrist with a special interest in biomechanics or a B5 podiatrist who wants to progress in their career.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and organisational skills, alongside a good sense of humour and team focus.

The Department has a good skill mix including advanced and specialist Podiatrists, Podiatry assistants, and administrative staff.
Currently, we maintain high-risk, biomechanics, and nail surgery caseloads.
As a specialist podiatrist, you will triage and treat a variety of podiatric problems and provide foot health education to patients and other stakeholders.

Opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in specialist areas are available through our close links with the multi-disciplinary diabetic foot team and North Cumbria MSK service.

Main duties of the job Formulate and deliver individual treatment plans using assessment, reasoning, and clinical decision-making based on your specialist knowledge and evidence-based practice and guidelines. Evaluate patient progress, re-assess and alter treatment plans using evidence-based medicine/guidelines and recognise when additional support and advice are needed. Be responsible for the escalation of patients presenting with complex conditions outside the scope of practice to an advanced podiatrist/appropriately experienced podiatrist. Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work, including the management of patients/service users in your care. Undertake self-directed/lone working in a variety of locations, including patients' homes. Plan and organise efficiently and effectively your clinical caseload. Other Requirements Demonstrate satisfactory health screening. Acts in a way that supports equity and diversity (level 1). Documented evidence of Hep B vaccination. Skills and Aptitudes Ability to assess new patients and provide appropriate treatment based on individual need of patients and care planning. Ability to manage and critically evaluate caseload. Ability to manage own time, prioritise tasks, work independently, and under own initiative and multi-task. Good organisational and timekeeping skills. Highly developed level of manual dexterity for the use of surgical instruments, including scalpels and needles. Able to work in restricted positions, particularly when carrying out domiciliary visits to accommodate patient needs. Ability to carry out, analyse and interpret results of various specialist assessments within scope of practice. Able to adapt to change and resolve problems. Work unsupervised. High levels of concentration during treatment and the ability to deal with unexpected situations (e.g.
emergencies). Exercise individual responsibility and judgement. Able to remain calm while under pressure. Communicate effectively with colleagues, other healthcare professionals, carers, and patients. Receives information concerning patients/clients history, sensitive issues, and some patients with communication difficulties: requires persuasive, reassurance skills. Work as a member of a team. Undertake clinical audits, as necessary to own work/ regularly undertake R&D trials/ clinical trials. Performance manage staff when indicated. Ability to supervise less experienced members of the podiatry team.
