We are seeking to recruit a band 6 physiotherapist with experience working within elderly medicine and elective and trauma orthopaedics.
Following training you will also be expected to work across our 'front end' areas including the Emergency Dept and Acute floors as required.
There will also be a requirement to join the respiratory on call service.This post will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to become involved in not only therapy delivery with patients, but also service delivery experience, the supervision of staff, training delivery and deputising as required for the Clinical Lead in their absence.

About us This post will be based at one of our sites (CRH/HRI)The in patient services provide therapy interventions across a 7 day rota.
Hours of work cover the service between 8-6pm.
In addition, there is an on call, overnight respiratory physiotherapy service which the successful candidate would also be expected to participate in.
Our on call staff benefit from a comprehensive on call training package, buddy system upon commencing on call and annual update training.

To manage own specialist caseload in this area.Work autonomously within Trust policies and professional practice, maintaining accurate and comprehensive up to date records.To carry out specialist assessment and treatment of orthopaedic and medical patients in hospital following an acute illness phase and those in the acute rehab phase, facilitating safe and timely discharges and contributing to the MDT aims.Determine a clinical diagnosis, develop, deliver, implement, evaluate and modify individualised treatment programmes and/or provide specialist advice, ensuring appropriate pathways of care and communication via liaison and referral to other agencies as required.Take part in the education and training of Physiotherapists and qualified and non-qualified healthcare / social services / education staff including medical staff.To support the Clinical Leads/ Team Leader in the day to day running of the Therapy team.To support and advise within the wider MDT on the delivery of the service Person Specification QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING Essential Relevant Degree/Diploma Registered with HCPC Evidence of Postgraduate Training Clinical Educator Training Recent experience demonstrating ability to assess, treat and evaluate care in Surgical, Acute Medicine, Orthopaedic and Respiratory care Evidence of relevant training and maintenance of best practise Desirable Studied at Masters level or equivalent KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE Essential Good clinical reasoning skills Evidence of CPD, self-directed learning and reflective practice Knowledge relating to and expertise in discharge and transfer of care planning and coordination Knowledge and expertise in assessing acute medical and orthopaedic patients.
Desirable Member of Professional Body Experience in contributing to service improvements audit, patient information etc.
Experience in dealing with complaints diffusing complaint or investigating complaint.
Rotational experience in core areas of Acute medicine, Respiratory, and Stroke Previous experience working at Band 6 level COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIPS (INCLUDING MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES) Essential Awareness of relevant legislation, NSF's/local and national initiatives.
Understanding of Clinical Governance Critical Appraisal skills Ability to maintain legible and accurate records.
Teaching/presentation skills.
