Job summary Our Community Dental Service is an award-winning, forward-thinking service which is proud of the care it provides to the people of Bradford and are seeking to appoint an experienced adult Special Care Specialist with a caring attitude, who is enthusiastic and committed to improving patient care whilst working within our team, which strives to deliver an outstanding patient offer an excellent working environment providing a full range of dental treatments including conscious sedation, complimentary therapies and delivering care in a variety of settings within the community.
You will be part of our experienced, consultant-led team of dental care professionals who have a strong ethos of working together to improve patient role will involve providing specialist dental advice and treatment for adults with a range of additional needs including disability and complex medical conditions.
In addition to your clinical responsibilities, the successful candidate will work closely with our other Consultants and Specialists and will contribute to leadership of the team as well as on-going innovation and development within the enthusiasm, commitment and team-working skills will be key to meet the challenges currently facing Community available post is full time but candidates wishing to work part-time or in a job share are encouraged to apply.
Main duties of the job To support the Consultant in Special Care Dentistry in servicedevelopment.
To provide specialist care and advice to those adult groups following integrated care pathways and support colleagues to do likewise.
To support colleagues in the delivery of Special Care Dentistry.

Person Specification Essential Essential Full Registration with the GDC Must be on a Performer list Postgraduate Dental Qualification Admitted to GDC Specialist List in Specialist Care Dentistry Desirable Dental postgraduate qualification related to special care dentistry and/or sedation Experience Essential Wide range of clinical experience Previous experience of working in a Community Dental Service Demonstrable experience of treating adults with special needs.
Experience of treating patients with conscious sedation and general anaesthesia Experience of leading and managing in relation to the governance of adult services Desirable Varied clinical experience in primary and secondary dental care Management experience Experience of working with ethnically diverse communities Experience with treating patients using hypnosis and acupuncture Knowledge Essential Knowledge and use of evidence-informed practice and guidelines in Special Care Dentistry.
