Job summary Due to an existing maternity leave and an upcoming maternity leave we have the opportunity for a full time, fixed term Band 6 Paediatric Physiotherapist to join the team.
This will cover 2 specialties within our team- Paediatric MSK service, providing clinic-based therapy to children from 4-15 with MSK related conditions and post operative non acute rehab needs; and within our community Therapy Team working with children from 0-19 with a range of physical disabilities and gross motor delays or difficulties.
This opportunity is open to physios with either Paediatric and/or MSK or Neuro rehab experience, looking to develop their skills with this client group.
For internal NCA applicants the opportunity for a secondment can be explored.
The post is fulltime hours, however slightly reduced hours may be an option for those not looking for full time.
The hours are to be worked between 8:15am and 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, the actual days worked can be roles are part of the Joint Paediatric Therapy Team in Salford, a progressive and supportive team offering regular supervision, training, peer support and the opportunity to participate in service team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants, and are based centrally with our Children's Health Service colleagues, which promotes collaborative child and family centred MDT working.
Clinics are run from 2 bases in Salford, in addition to home, nursery and school visits Main duties of the job Within the MSK team, our main client base includes children with sport and exercise associated pains or dysfunctions, non-acute post -operative/conservative management orthopaedic rehabilitation such as fractures or corrective surgery, orthopaedic conditions requiring ongoing physiotherapy needs such as Perthes disease and spinal/posture related the Community Therapy Team, you will be responsible for the assessment, treatment and monitoring of children with a wide range of conditions; in addition to the assessment and provision of specialist paediatric equipment; orthotic requirements; and identification and management of children with postural care both teams an holistic approach to patient care is encouraged to ensure a child has the support and guidance to achieve their goals and optimise their full will be required to work autonomously with close support from your Band 7 supervisor, Band 5 physiotherapist and senior therapy assistant.
Training on paediatric specific conditions and management is available in house and we operate a team approach to caseload discussions and more complex will be supported to develop your knowledge and skills through our established competency framework and will also have the opportunity to support and develop more junior members of the team and this role is within the community it is essential that you are able to independently travel across the city.
