Job summary Do you want to join a friendly, forward-thinking team committed to providing the best possible medicines care?We are looking for an organised, ambitious and motivated pharmacist to join our experienced team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and support workers in our Section 10 Pharmacy Aseptic Production Unit.
The post holder will be supported to develop their knowledge and skills in chemotherapy/cancer care and pharmacy aseptic services.
This role will also involve providing a clinical service across various wards and specialities at the trust.The ideal candidate will hold an independent prescribing qualification, but if you do not already possess this then funding to undertake this will be provided.The successful candidate will be a pharmacist with excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of the pharmacy team and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Motivation to further yourself and take advantage of the learning opportunities available will be advantageous.
Experience working within a hospital pharmacy setting and/or aseptics in an NHS Trust would be beneficial but not essential, as training and support can be provided for the right candidate.We offer opportunities for flexible working and if you would like to discuss the required hours of this role further, you should approach the named contact on this advert.
Main duties of the job Clinical verification and accuracy checking of prescriptions, including chemotherapy and total parenteral nutrition.Giving advice and providing training to medical, nursing, other healthcare staff and patients on all aspects of the safe & effective use of medicines with a particular focus on chemotherapy agents.Acting as an Authorised Pharmacist for regulatory supervision of a Section 10 aseptic unit.Final check and release of aseptically-prepared products.Participation in the on call and weekend working rotasParticipation in ward rounds and team meetings About us We want to attract the best and brightest people to work with us and that means we will look after you from the moment you apply for a role at the Trust and throughout your career with us.

Job description Job responsibilities To support the Pharmacy Production Lead Pharmacist in the safe and effective running of the Pharmacy Production Unit: Acting as an Authorised Pharmacist for regulatory supervision of a Section 10 aseptic unitAseptic verification of prescriptions for aseptically-prepared productsFinal check and release of aseptically-prepared productsMonitoring of patients and prescriptions for total parenteral nutrition, in conjunction with the dietitians and physicians To support the Highly Specialist Pharmacists in Haematology and Oncology to deliver pharmaceutical care within cancer services: Providing expert advice on pharmaceutical matters relating to chemotherapy and SACTClinical verification of chemotherapy and supportive therapy for patients undergoing treatment for cancerClinical Pharmacy service to the haematology inpatient ward Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registration with the GPhC MPharm Desirable Independent Prescribing qualification Clinical Pharmacy diploma Experience and knowledge Essential Postgraduate experience working in hospital pharmacy Relevant clinical pharmacy knowledge and experience Knowledge of national guidelines relating to prescribing and medicines optimisation Desirable Experience working in Pharmacy Aseptics Experience working in Cancer Services Experience of using JAC and EPMA pharmacy systems Skills, abilities and competency Essential Able to work as part of a team or as an individual with a flexible approach to duties Strong communication skills - oral and written Able to share learning with others Able to work under pressure Self-motivated, enthusiastic and willing to learn Adaptable and innovative approach to work and projects Articulate and numerate Able to manage change Desirable Previous management or mentorship experience
