Special Needs Teaching Assistant Location: Cardiff.
Start date: November 2024.
Pay: £13+ per hour.

A friendly and supportive support team within a secondary school in the Cardiff area are seeking an individual to join their specialised team.
The school are seeking someone who is able to effectively communicate with pupils of different abilities and offer support on a 1:1 basis with a pupil with additional needs.
The school would like someone with prior experience caring for complex needs and willing to undertake further training.
About the role: Full-time during term-time, Monday to Friday 08:15am-15:30pm.
Working closely with a pupil with complex needs – toileting, personal care and tube feeding is necessary.
Assisting the pupil with their school work and encouraging engagement in lessons.
Building on the pupils confidence, ambitions and mental health needs.
Flourishing in a team of teaching assistants and teaching staff.
Promoting lifeskills and independence within the pupil.
About you: Experience with complex needs (personal or professional).
A willingness to be trained in tube feeding and manual handling (if applicable).
Caring, understanding and patient person.
An ability to act on own initiative and be pro-active within the base.
Passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs.
