About the Role As an SEN TA in Blandford, you will provide focused support to students with various complex needs, ensuring their educational experience is both inclusive and effective.
You will work closely with teachers, SEN teams, and other staff to deliver tailored interventions and create an environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to thrive.
Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant · Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students, particularly those with complex needs.
· Assist with implementing and monitoring Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs) to meet individual learning goals.
· Foster an inclusive environment where students feel safe and supported.
· Support behavioural management strategies to encourage positive behaviour and engagement in the classroom.
· Help deliver interventions to support academic and social development.
· Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to ensure consistent support for SEN students.
· Track and document student progress, sharing feedback with the team and parents when appropriate.
Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant · Previous experience working with SEN students or relevant qualifications in education or special needs is preferred.
· A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
· An understanding of SEN conditions and the ability to adapt strategies for individual students.
· Flexibility, resilience, and a proactive approach to working in a dynamic classroom environment.
· An up-to-date CV and an enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
