JOB TITLE: Site Person in Charge - Electrical TesterLOCATIONS: LondonSHIFT PATTERN: Sunday-Thursday 22:00-06:30SALARY: £50-55K + company van ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSESite Person in Charge - Electrical tester with London Underground experience to work on a long-term contract.
This will involve working nightshift, carrying out electrical testing and maintenance on LV electrical systems across the TfL London Underground estate.
A Site Person in Charge (SPC) plays a crucial role on London Underground and is responsible for various aspects related to safety, work progress, and discipline.
Here are the key responsibilities of an SPC: Work in Progress: The SPC oversees the ongoing work at the site, ensuring that tasks are carried out efficiently and safely.
Worksite Discipline: The SPC ensures that everyone adheres to safety protocols and follows the established procedures.
Tools, Plants, and Materials: The SPC oversees the proper use of tools, equipment, and materials required for the job.
First Aid and Emergency Procedures: In case of emergencies or accidents, the SPC coordinates first aid and emergency response efforts.
General Health and Safety: The SPC ensures the overall safety of the work group, including reporting hazards via the incident reporting system.
Setting Up a Safe Worksite: When establishing a worksite, the SPC evaluates risks, ensures adequate lighting and displays appropriate signage.
Managing the Worksite: During work, the SPC ensures that the Safe System of Work (SSoW) is followed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES To carry out planned maintenance in accordance with the company's PPM and task schedules.
Undertake PPM activity in a quality, professional manner.
Production of technical and situational reports as required.
Proactively use the technology systems given to you so that the Company can be always compliant with its contractual obligations.
To always communicate clearly and effectively with the rest of the team and clients.
Attending team meetings/briefings as always requested.
To ensure that the Company is always presented in a good light.
To escalate any major site issues or incidents to your line manager asap once noticed.
Understand and be aware of the requirements of all relevant Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality legislation and are equally aware of their own roles and responsibilities within the Company.
Full inspection & testing procedures to comply with BS7671.
Producing EICR's & Defect Reports REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE· City & Guilds (2394 & 2395) or 2391 Testing and Inspection· City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 or Part 1 & 2· City & Guilds 18th Edition IET Regulations BS7671· Proven experience in electrical testing.· A strong knowledge of electrical regulations and safety standards in rail environments.
· A valid driver's licenceDesirable:· Sentinel- LU-ICI (London Underground Industry Common Induction)
