Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit aRehabilitation Assistant (Band 3) to join the rehabilitation Hospice and Centre for Specialist Palliative in Sunderland.
You will work closely with Occupational Therapists andPhysiotherapists in the delivery of individual plans of care for patients,working across all departments.
You will be expected to move and handle patients insupporting their rehabilitation programmes and contribute to the delivery oftherapeutic activity groups

Main duties of the job
Youwill be/have:
NVQ 3 in Care or equivalent qualification The Care Certificate or willingness towork towards Good standard of general education Experience of working in NHS or healthcareenvironment in a rehabilitation role Experience of palliative care is desirable Excellent communication and interpersonalskills are essential Effective organisational skills Ability to maintain confidentiality Able to move and handle patients and loads Car driver, valid license and businessclass insurance are essential.

To beresponsible for the maintenance and monitoring of stock control/ materials/ equipmentwithin the rehabilitation service
To deliver andinstall low risk equipment to patients homes, following installation training,as directed by a qualified therapist, e.g.)
mobility aides, toileting equipment
To be competentin the ordering, fitting, maintenance and review of equipment for patient use
