ABOUT THE ROLE The Wild Rabbit is a modern British inn set in the heart of the Cotswolds - a place to eat, drink and sleep in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
The Wild Rabbit family is growing, and we are looking for a passionate and experienced Sommelier to ensure the smooth efficient running of service throughout the restaurant, pub and private dining room.
SALARY: 36000 + tronc HOURS: Full time - 48 hours THE WILD RABBIT BEHAVIOURS To always deliver excellent service, to all external & internal guests.

To know your subject in order to make recommendations, and promote The Wild Rabbit, Daylesford & Bamford, and to help educate your colleagues on our offering and history.
To be prepared and anticipate the business.
Our service revolves around attention to detail and a great deal of preparation must be done behind the scenes to give a smooth service to our guests.
To communicate with all guests, departments and colleagues in a positive & respectful manner.
Ensure the handover of detailed & accurate information to avoid mistakes and guest dissatisfaction.

Display the attention to detail that we are renowned for and take pride in our surroundings YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WINE To have exceptional knowledge of the wine, beers and cocktail lists Manage wine cellar and stock Ordering of wine Running special events and tastings in the wine cellar, private dining room and cottages Have full knowledge of ingredients in order to give accurate allergens advice Actively drive average spend per head through wine service Ensure all bills are correct Support all Managers in the sales of wines and to advise them on the best wines appropriate for the guest SERVICE To adhere to the agreed steps of service at all times Ensure the wine service provided to guests is of the highest quality To take charge of wine service and train others in your absence To take an active role in service with both running a section and running food when not needed on wine service To take ownership of wine service for private dining events To keep a constant attentive eye to the timing and flow of service at the bar tables To constantly seek to proactively assist guests in the bar seated area, without waiting for them to stand up and seek for help To anticipate all possible complaints and attempt to resolve them in the first instance - Report/escalate any potential issues or complaints to the Manager on duty OPERATIONS To highlight H&S matters to your line manager To deliver and champion The Wild Rabbit standards To be proactive in assisting your team member colleagues To activity share knowledge of your subject To be reliable and punctual on shift To ensure all mandatory and legal training is complete and up to date; and refreshers completed prior to the expiry date To attend training courses when requested PERKS & BENEFITS Discounts: We offer a range of discounts on our products, treatments, and dining experiences from day 1.
