A quick look at the role As a Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing effective technology solutions that meet the needs of the organisation. This position will play a critical role in designing, developing and maintaining our legacy and new systems, supporting the transformation programme to replace our ERP system. The Solutions Architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to ensure that changes to our systems and new systems follow our technology roadmap and meet our requirements for scalability, security, and performance.
Your core responsibilities Develop and communicate the strategic direction for technology solutions, aligning them with Biffa's business goals and objectives. Create and maintain a comprehensive roadmap for solution development, outlining key milestones, deliverables, and timelines. Includes maintaining as-is architecture maps and documentation. Evaluate and recommend suitable technologies, frameworks, and platforms that align with the organisation's technical requirements and long-term vision. Provide oversight and guidance during the implementation phase, ensuring adherence to architectural principles, standards, and best practices. Design and validate solutions to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability, considering factors such as data volume, user load, and system availability. Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers, assessing their capabilities, managing relationships, and ensuring their solutions integrate effectively with the organisation's ecosystem. Our essential requirements 5 years experience with direct responsibility for solution architecture Experience developing and monitoring delivery of efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems. Experience working in a BAU continual improvement setting across a complex SaaS and legacy architecture Exceptional ability to understand highly complex technical processes and then communicate them clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
