Software Engineer

Details of the offer

Purpose Of Post : The post holder will have responsibility for vehicle software on prototype vehicles within the Hybrid development department.
Including the initial development of vehicle, through to hand over to production for standard build.
Specifically the role involves planning and integration of the electrical control for vehicle body and driveline components with respect to hardware components and software control programs, improving reliability, quality and ease of servicing.
Key Tasks : Responsible for the design of software for general vehicle operating systems Responsible for the creation of technical documentation with respect to the system and the installation.
Responsible for relevant areas of vehicle from initial development through to handover to main factory production Responsible for commissioning, testing and fault diagnosis of vehicle software systems Responsible for the regular auditing system.
Responsible for ensuring software is designed to the required standard.
Responsible for technical assistance to production, support engineers and the customer Responsible for the continued development of the system to improve ease of operation, reliability and to reduce the cost of manufacture (including vehicle data analysis).
Responsible for resolving Customer problems and technical queries.
Undertake any other duties, or training conductive with the efficient conduct of the post.

Education Attainments Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, to include modules in software engineering/development Job Experience Working knowledge of electrical schematics and design Software design based skills in embedded applications Experience working in a team environment Experience in achieving agreed targets Specialist Knowledge / Skills Ability to make decisions Strong communication and teamwork skills Creation of technical documentation Understanding of safety critical procedures Disposition Self motivated with the ability to motivate others Target orientated Good drive and determination Good initiative Circumstances Flexible and adaptable Good attendance, disciplinary and timekeeping record Prepared to work in UK or abroad as necessary Desirable Experience of software development in an engineering environment Working knowledge of Canbus systems 3 years experience in a similar role Ability to influence support departments e.g.
planning, sales, materials, purchasing Commissioning and testing electrical control systems Fault finding and repair of components and systems Working knowledge of electric vehicles and battery systems ADZN1_UKTJ
