Position Overview
The PerfPlat (Performance Platform) team designs and builds a high-fidelity integration and scale testing platform that is used to test and validate the robotics solutions before they are deployed to production.
This is a hands-on position where you will be involved in everything from design to delivery of tools to support the platform and design of Amazon robotic fulfillment operations.
As a software development engineer, you will be accountable for driving the technical direction of a complex software system.
You will be working with a cross-functional team to prototype, design, and develop software solutions that span local, service-oriented, and cloud-based systems.
The ideal candidate is passionate about new opportunities and has a demonstrable track record of success in delivering new and foundational products and features.
A commitment to teamwork and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements.
Creating reliable, scalable, and high-performance software products requires technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of computer science and software engineering, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems.
This person has delivered high-quality technology products/services in a high-growth environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experienceProgramming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented designKnowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operationsExperience building and designing test casesExperience with testing methodologies (Junit)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experienceBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentExperience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systemsExperience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategyExperience developing automated tests of service-oriented architecture (SOA) applicationsKnowledge of scripting languages (bash, python, etc.
