Software Development Engineer, OS FrameworkThis Software Development Engineer role will be responsible for creating innovative embedded solutions enabling new and unique experiences for our customers with a wide range of Amazon Devices.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Design and implement solutions that are exemplary in terms of algorithm design, clarity, model structure, efficiency, and extensibility.
- Develop innovative features on embedded devices and feature up-leveling to new device or OS versions.
- Engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff/stakeholders to conceive and design innovative customer experiences.
A Day in the Life:
The following are the day-to-day activities:
1.
Collaborate with Sr SDEs/team to understand the system to solve problems and participate in technical discussions and decisions.
2.
Code and test embedded solutions with high quality.
3.
Work on-call during office hours to address partner teams' technical consultations on owned software.
4.
Work on bug fixes to stabilize the system.
5.
Update status and progress on a daily basis to stakeholders and managers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Experience in embedded software development, with an understanding of device OS.
