Social Science Teacher – Aylesbury (Good Mainstream School) Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire Start Date: ASAP or January Salary: MPS/UPS (M1 to UPS3) Contract: Full-time, with a Permanent Opportunity for the right candidate We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Social Science Teacher to join a good mainstream secondary school in Aylesbury.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified educator to teach Social Sciences, including Sociology and Psychology, across Key Stages 4 and 5 within a supportive school environment focused on academic excellence and student well-being.
Role Overview The successful candidate will deliver Social Science subjects, with a primary focus on Sociology and Psychology, to students at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, tracking student progress, and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
You will also contribute to curriculum development within the Social Sciences department, sharing best practices and innovative teaching approaches.
Key Responsibilities: Teach Sociology and Psychology to students at KS4 and KS5 (GCSE and A-Level) Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students at different ability levels Assess, track, and report on student progress in line with school policies and departmental goals Support curriculum development initiatives and collaborate with colleagues to maintain a high standard of teaching across the Social Sciences Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement and well-being Participate actively in school-wide initiatives focused on academic excellence and continuous improvement Candidate Profile We are looking for a qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a degree in Social Science, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field.
Experience teaching Social Science subjects at the GCSE and A-Level stages is essential, and the ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering social awareness, critical thinking, and academic achievement in their students.
