Location: Basingstoke and Deane District Job Type: Contract Industry: Cyber Security Job reference: LAS/SOCM/7654_1732017125 Posted: about 1 hour ago Position: SOC LeadLocation: Fully onsite in BasingstokeContract: 6-month initial contractPay: £650 per day (Inside IR35)Clearance: DV Clearance required prior to startingWe are looking for a driven, experienced and able SOC lead to join our Consultancy client delivering in to a UK Defence client.This is your chance to play a pivotal role in driving innovative security solutions, ensuring resilience in a critical environment, and shaping a safer, more secure world.Key Responsibilities:Leadership: Overarching management of multiple SIEM solutions, including a 24/7 operational environment, and driving team performance and development.Incident Response: Investigate and report on suspicious activity, cyber incidents, and vulnerabilities, working closely with SMEs to mitigate risk.Technical Expertise: Provide guidance to SOC teams, system architects, and project managers, ensuring robust protection across on-prem and hosted systems.Operational Excellence: Oversee vulnerability triage, change management activities, and provisioning of user accounts and tooling access.Collaboration: Foster relationships with internal teams, external partners, and third-party vendors to enhance security operations.Consultancy & Reporting: Support bid teams, create reports and dashboards, and update SOC documentation to ensure compliance and currency.Mandatory Skills & Experience:Proven experience in managing and leading high-performing teams.In-depth knowledge of Cyber Security principles and SIEM tools (e.g., LogRhythm).Expertise in vulnerability management, ITIL frameworks, operating systems, and networking principles (e.g., DNS, DHCP).Proficiency in OSINT and incident investigation techniques, including classifying and mitigating risks.Ability to mentor junior team members and act as a technical escalation point during security incidents.Due to the nature of this work, DV Level clearance must be in place prior to work starting.
