Smith School, School of Geography and the Environment, South Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3QY We are looking to appoint a Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment.
This is a critical leadership role at the heart of the Smith School, vital to the success of the organisation's bold new mission to transform economies and governance to ensure people and nature thrive together.
The COO will provide leadership during a key point in the School's development, enabling it to capitalise on recent rapid growth and expand its reach and influence.
The COO manages all operations of the School, and sets and reflects the Smith School ethos and values.
The COO leads a high-performing, impact-driven team enabled by a culture of kindness, respect, support and trust.
Embracing service leadership, the COO provides guidance, support and direction to Smith School team members at all levels and on a wide variety of issues.
They are a trusted advisor and critical friend to the Director and Advisory Board, support staff and students to thrive, and represent the School externally at the highest levels.
Vital to the role will be an ability to work closely and sensitively with colleagues in the School of Geography and the Environment and across the complex collegiate University for shared success.
The post is fixed-term for 5 years, with the opportunity of renewal.
The post is based in Oxford and can support hybrid working within the UK as well as flexible working patterns.
