A quick look at the role.
Monday - Friday + overtime available at time and a half on Saturday.
Average of 40 hours per week.
The role holder will efficiently organise and supervise the operation of a Green Waste Composting Operation, and Wood Processing & Street Sweeping Operations, ensuring health & safety and environmental compliance, whilst showing continuous improvement in productivity, plant availability and the requirements of sub-products produced in accordance with the site permits and quality protocols. The Supervisor will drive Wheeled Loading Shovels / Telescopic Handlers on a daily basis and operate waste shredders and compost screening machinery.

Monitor and control all resources within the Organics Site Operations in terms of people and equipment, including stock control, maintaining a high level of housekeeping in all areas, to maximise operational productivities, machinery availability and machinery performance.
Ensure productivity and availability exceeds minimum defined standards in terms of production and quality of the sub-products generated during the process whilst driving best practice and continuous improvement in cost control and processing operations.
Control of the material which flows into and out of the process to ensure downtimes are minimised and control of the materials used in the treatment process.
To provide accurate and detailed records of all plant operations, stoppages, and to attribute causes to all unplanned downtime.
Keep abreast of changes to health & safety, environmental and employment legislation, as advised by the Company, and implementing and ensuring compliance with all site licences, Company policies, processes and procedures.
To support, in cooperation with the management team, development of a programme of planned preventative maintenance, inspection and cleaning to minimise downtime and provide records of recurrent faulting.
Provide data to aid maintenance activities, cost-control, health & safety and service KPI's, implementing necessary corrective actions in the event of variance.
Operate wheeled loading shovels/telescopic handlers and mobile plant on a daily basis.
To provide supervision of contractors in line with company procedures including issuing Permits to Work, implementing LOTOTO, facilitating audits etc.
Conduct monitoring and maintain records to ensure conformance with the BSI PAS 100 Compost Quality Standard.
Requirements Here's what we require: IOSH managing safety or equivalent H&S qualification Wamitab COTC level 4 qualification or working towards.
(Desirable) Assist in other areas of the Company's activities as required from time to time.
