Our client is a global leading prop-trading firm that is looking for a site reliability engineer to join their London office.
You will assist with business development by identifying new trading opportunities, work with developers to design and implement new features, and building new tools to scale and understand the trading system.
The ideal candidate will be hands on with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
They will have experience in a client facing role, to support the direct trading business.
While not needing to be completely self-reliant, there will be an element of autonomy within the role.
Key responsibilities: Oversee the full lifecycle of software components Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues Develop and maintain tools that enable non-technical teams to make changes Build automation tools for configuration management, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting Offer technical assistance to the trading support team for internal and external inquiries Create tools to analyze data generated by the trading system Contribute to long-term planning for the trading systems, including capacity, tools, and feature development Collaborate with developers to design and implement new trading system features Perform additional responsibilities as required or assigned Skills and requirements: Over 5 years of experience in supporting production trading environments Experience in handling trading counterparties Strong skills in Python and/or Go, with shell scripting; familiarity with C++ is a plus Familiarity with REST or gRPC, with a focus on automating manual tasks Proficient in DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, and Git Solid knowledge of the FIX protocol Advanced expertise in Linux and network troubleshooting, particularly TCP/IP and multicast Understanding of high-availability solutions, including failover, redundancy, and disaster recovery planning; experience with load balancers like HAProxy Dependable and predictable availability
