Purpose of Role: All team members share the same responsibilities and duties regarding the operational availability of the TMS systems and the corresponding application support.
Overall Responsibility: Configuration and maintenance of the hosted systemsConfiguration and maintenance of the applications in close collaboration with the software engineersTuning systems and applications to cope with high data volumes and to be available 24/7Monitoring of systems and applicationsTroubleshooting of incidents, with responsibility ending at the border between OS and applicationLooking into ways to further optimize current procedures and practices in the teamBeing part of the on-call schedule, outside office hoursRequirements: Experience in a similar role, managing infrastructure hardware and Linux-based systems/applicationsHands-on experience in implementing and improving automation/scripting for infrastructure, containers, systems, and applicationsMindful of the implications of running a 24/7 operationAble to work on tasks both with the team and independentlyEnjoy troubleshooting, viewing issues as opportunities to learn/improveFluent in writing and speaking EnglishFamiliarity with one or more of the following tools or technologies is a plus:LinuxKubernetes/Rancher/DockerJenkins/RundeckTomcatPostgreSQL/MySQL/SQL ServerSplunkRabbitMQElasticSearchBonus Points:
• Experience in managing an AWS environment, including automation
• Extensive in-depth experience in any of the tools/technologies mentioned above
