Aufgaben Senior Site Managerfor small to medium construction works and operational activity across the UKand within the Secure (Defence, Government, Aviation) sector, responsible forall aspects of delivery including Safety, Environment, Quality, Cost and Programme.
Health, Safety, Environmental and QualityLead / promote high standards of HSEQ on the project and monitor / ensure company policies and procedures are in place.
Act when required.Assist in the production of the Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan and incorporated Management Plans.
Ensure that it is regularly updated.
Lead, promote and empower the Behavioural Safety Culture with Staff, Supply Chain and Client.
Ensure adequate provision is in place for attending all safety related tours / meetings and close out all actions in a timely manner by the project team.
Ensure STRABAG project team and Subcontractors are aware of their responsibilities for the contract and that all their operations are planned to deliver a safe system of work.Understand the roles and responsibilities of STRABAG in respect of the CDM Regulations.Ensure that the quality of the work is to the specified standards and that the site team are closely monitoring the quality of work to minimise defects at project completion.
Empower the site teams to raise non-conformances (through ITP / Defects Management – Fusion Live) as well as implementing learning and cost of failure to improve quality across the business.Ensure that all reported defects are rectified promptly during the progress of works on site and ultimately assist the Project Manager to ensure that all PC snags are cleared within two weeks of Practical Completion.
Customer and Stakeholder SatisfactionEstablish and positively maintain a good working relationship with the Client, including their team and Design Team.Project Financial and Commercial PerformanceEnsure necessary record keeping relating to site correspondence, allocations, reconciliations, diaries, delay notices, CVI's, RFI's are accurate to protect STRABAG.Understand the control and monitoring of costs / expenditure on site in conjunction with the Commercial Project Lead.
Challenge any losses and inform line management of any issues / concerns.Assist with the timely procurement of Sub-Contractors.
Carry out a weekly (or more frequently as required) review of the Procurement Schedule with the Project Commercial Lead to meet or better target dates.
Assist the Project Commercial Lead to drive the timely and accurate submission of variations including effects on programme.
Ensure that comprehensive records of resources employed on additional works are maintained.
Assist in the identification of Risks and Opportunities with the Project Team and monitor progression / implementation of the management of the same.Assist the Project Team to ensure that the profitable and commercial aspects of site decisions are understood.Programme and Site ManagementWillingness to operate on sites across the UK and Northern Ireland, with typical project durations of 3-12 months.
Produce results which create excellent Client satisfaction, WIP, cash and Sub-Contractor performance, compliance of the Project within standards of Safety, Planning and Forecasting.Support the setting up, planning and co-ordination of the Project prior to commencement.Understand the scope of the works and identify change.
Develop (with the Project Manager), maintain, and monitor a robust programme that is cascaded, understood and delivered by the team.Ensure that all Project Operations are planned and executed in accordance with the requirements of the CPS.Ensure that sub-contractors have short term programmes in place (2 / 4 weeks) with agreed resources to monitor against and this is then incorporated into the Construction Programme.Attend and contribute to weekly Project Team Meetings with actions recorded and monitored.Ensure weekly Progress Meetings with key Sub-Contractors are held and recorded.Establish relationships with each Sub-Contractor and conduct regular dialogue.
Treat all Supply Chain Partners fairly and with respect in accordance with the Contract and overall success of the Project in mind.Promote the pursuit of excellence and continuous improvement, driving innovation, adopting best practice, standard processes and procedures.Staff / TrainingEnsure all new starters (including Sub-Contract employees) are instructed on STRABAG Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements including project specific needs and receive a Company Induction.Guide and develop the team in terms of skills & competencies to optimise their work contribution as well as encouraging behaviours / cultures supporting collaboration.Ensure and oversee the professional development and progression of staff and ensure that necessary training and briefings are identified and provided.Set clear goals and objectives, roles and responsibilities and ensuring good clear communication throughout the team.
Qualifikationen Holding or capable of holding UK Government Vetting to Security Check level (SC) (Highly Desirable) UKNational, resident in the UK for the last 5 years, with no dual nationality.
Experiencein Defence and Government works (ideal) or an equivalent regulated sector.All roles are expected to have the relevant competency skills cards where site-based work is requiredTraining in Health & Safety and Environmental management (SMSTS minimum)Knowledge and understanding of construction contract law and forms of contract through experience and formal training.Extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices.Knowledge of Environmental Minimum Requirements (including Code of Construction Practice, etc).Understanding of all facets of the construction process with strong ability for planning.Strong leadership, communication and conflict management skills.Adaptable and capable of problem-solving during build phase.Ability to establish and lead a safety-first culture with a track record of delivering projects safely.Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering / Construction Management.A Chartered Member of a relevant professional body.
(MCIOB), (MICE), (MRICS).Track record of developing a proactive and collaborative relationship with the Client TeamsExperience of working in an environment of a complex structure of stakeholders and ability to maintain good relationships throughout.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a focus on the development of people in the team to realise their potential.Able to demonstrate the application of systems and construction processes that develop a results driven culture of excellence throughout the project team.Can demonstrate leading supply chain relationships to bring innovation and best practice to the project within a commercial framework that ensures delivery to programme and budget.
