About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and proactive Site Manager to oversee civil works on a live chemical site.
You will lead and manage construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Working in a high-risk environment, your expertise in health, safety, and project management will be essential in ensuring successful project delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management:Oversee all civil engineering works, including excavation, drainage, structural installations, and foundations.Plan and coordinate works to meet project milestones and budgetary targets.Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):Implement and enforce strict safety protocols, adhering to COMAH regulations and chemical site requirements.Conduct risk assessments, review method statements, and ensure safe systems of work.Leadership & Coordination:Manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers effectively.Chair daily site meetings and toolbox talks.Act as the main point of contact between the client, engineers, and stakeholders.Quality & Compliance:Ensure all works comply with engineering specifications, industry standards, and quality assurance protocols.Monitor progress, prepare reports, and resolve on-site issues promptly.What We're Looking ForQualifications:Degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.NEBOSH or IOSH certification is desirable.Experience:Proven experience in civil engineering projects, ideally within high-risk or COMAH-regulated environments.Strong track record in managing subcontractors, budgets, and schedules.Skills:Comprehensive understanding of civil engineering principles, materials, and construction methods.Exceptional leadership, communication, and organisational skills.Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera.Additional Requirements:First aid certification and knowledge of confined space regulations.A strong focus on health and safety in hazardous environments.
