The Site Facilities Manager is responsible for managing the site's statutory compliance, site utilities, buildings & infrastructure and engineering stores.
Reporting Structure Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager Outline of Duties Ensuring the site is compliant with all statutory regulations (Lifting equipment, Legionella checks, Insurance checks, etc.) Ensure that the generation and distribution of all utilities such as refrigeration, water, compressed air, electricity, etc. are safely, reliably, and efficiently delivered, enabling high-performance operations while ensuring protection of the environment. Ensure buildings and infrastructure are maintained to meet current food safety and OHSE standards. Manage efficient and effective operation of the engineering stores. Providing leadership, support, and management for their internal and external teams. Support and work with Production and site-based Engineering function. Driving OHSE improvement initiatives. Driving Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives. Drive energy efficiency across the site. Maintain site building EPC ratings to the required standards. Other duties commensurate with the role, experience, and capability of the team member.
B. Key Accountabilities: Key activities Safety Putting Safety first in all that we do – as per the Amcor Way. Leading by example, adhering to all site safety rules and policies. Encouraging correct behaviours. Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of OHSE legislation and taking the necessary steps to ensure Engineering compliance. Challenging co-workers, contractors, and visitors who are not working safely. Participating in accident investigations and suggesting safety improvements. Promoting the use of the Near Miss system. Ensuring contractors adhere to agreed Amcor OHSE requirements. Ensuring Safety is incorporated into Engineering solutions. Hygiene Leading by example. Working to and within the site Hygiene rules. Promoting a clean as you go approach. Identifying, implementing, and complying with 6S activities. Quality Identifying and driving Engineering initiatives that will drive Quality improvements. Supporting Quality improvement programmes. Appreciation of how equipment condition & operation can influence product quality standards. Waste Identifying and driving Engineering solutions that will minimise Waste production. Working closely with Operational Managers to support Waste improvement programmes. Manage the site's statutory requirements, ensuring legal compliance to current standards. Provide onsite maintenance and engineering support for site assets to ensure output is maximised. Drive reliability initiatives on site. Drive the implementation of planned preventative & predictive maintenance schedules for site-based assets. Drive good operating practices of CMMS system, ensuring it is kept up to date and reflects current status. Drive the co-ordination of the daily and weekly site maintenance workload. Drive the development of equipment downtime performance and assist in any reviews & RCFA investigations. Manage and drive good practices of the stores management system. Drive the development and training program for the engineering site services department. Build effective knowledge networks with Amcor Engineering contacts from other sites. People Management Manage an effective internal and external site services maintenance team. Manage effective contractor relations. Effective communication with key stakeholders. Operational Excellence Actively seeking best practice solutions, both from within Amcor and externally. Determination to deliver best in class. Promoting Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvements within Engineering across the site. Supporting and driving the Engineering Department where appropriate with the implementation of C.I. and reliability initiatives. C. Role dimensions and budget responsibility D. FM Providers Contractors Other Amcor Engineering Contacts E. Qualifications / requirements: Knowledge and Experience Managerial and leadership experience. Site services knowledge/experience. Problem-solving skills. Ability to motivate self and others. Good organisational skills. Regulatory and legislative knowledge and experience ensuring compliance. Experience of Operational Engineering within a Manufacturing environment. Computer literate, with knowledge of SAP and Engineering CMMS. Education and Certifications Time served Engineer with developed experience in production engineering environment. (Preferred) HNC or equivalent. IOSH General Certificate. Job Specific Technical Requirements Engineering knowledge of site services. Understanding of Planned Preventative Maintenance, Engineering Best Practices, Operational Excellence tools and techniques.
