Job summary Ward C6 is a 29 bedded mixed sex ward specialising in the medical care for older people.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Sister/Charge Nurse to join our nursing team.We are looking for a motivated nurse to join our senior leadership team that will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide high quality safe patient care.This post will involve deputising for the ward manager in their absence and assisting with the day to day running of unit.Informal visits are encouraged.
Main duties of the job To assist the ward / unit manager in the overall management of the ward and to provide safe, individualised, holistic and evidence based, patient focused care.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Current registration with the NMC as an adult nurse Evidence of continued professional development Practice assessor and supervisor Desirable Completion of a leadership program Experience Essential Experience in older medical nursing care Experience of complex discharge planning Experience of shift co-ordination and patient flow Desirable Experience as team leader Experience in team development and management eg.
Appraisals, sickness and performance Previous experience of bleep holding Knowledge Essential Knowledge of mentorship and teaching Management of deteriorating patients Desirable Experience in venepuncture and cannulation Understanding patient flow, completion of discharge milestones and criteria to reside Understanding of how to use the trust EPIC system Skills Essential Effective communication skills Management and teaching skills Effective team working skills Problem solving Additional Requirements Essential The ability to understand and behave at all times, towards patients, visitors and colleagues according to the Trust values of safe, kind, excellent.
