Junior Sister/Charge Nurse-Renal Haemodialysis- Band 6 An exciting opportunity has arisen for band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse in Haemodialysis at Hornchurch and Queens Dialysis unit, Barts Health NHS Trust in the specialist medicine division. Bart's Health is home to one of the UK's largest renal service, offering nurses the unique opportunity to work across a wide variety of clinical specialties and to advance their professional development. Our world class services include Medical, Surgical, Enhanced Care, Transplantation, Community Dialysis, Acute Dialysis, Research, Palliative Care, Renal Assessment, Living Donation, Acute Kidney Injury and Chronic Kidney Disease, based at our brand new hospital building near the City of London.
Working closely with multi-disciplinary team and renal service the post holder is responsible for the delivery of a consistently high standard of care to meet patient needs and objectives whilst working closely with Consultants, Senior and Lead Clinical Nurse Specialists and all bands of clinical nursing staff. The post holder will demonstrate clinical expertise in the assessment, planning, and delivery of care using a holistic approach. The post holder needs to work flexible hours to meet service needs, with shift rotation between days and nights.

Main duties of the jobThe junior sister/charge nurse has delegated responsibility for the management of clinical areas within the haemodialysis units. The junior sister/charge nurse has delegated responsibility for the management of clinical areas including assessment of care needs, development, implementation and evaluation of care and the setting of standards of quality care. To deputise for the senior sister/charge nurse in their absence when necessary. Ensuring continuity and high standards of care including sharing ideas, information and feedback in order to empower patients and members of the multidisciplinary team.
The Junior Sister/Charge Nurse will act as a credible and professional role model and encourage and empower other staff to develop both personally and professionally to achieve their maximum potential. Working closely with the haemodialysis nursing team the post holder is responsible for the delivery of a consistently high standard of care to meet patient needs and Unit objectives.
