About the role.
As a Shift Engineer, you'll be pivotal in ensuring smooth operations by maintaining and optimising high-tech production assets.
This role includes proactive, planned maintenance to prevent issues and reactive support during breakdowns.
You'll collaborate with production teams to lead or assist in machinery setup and changeovers, contributing directly to keeping our lines running efficiently.
What you'll do: Prepare for Maintenance Work : Organise and set up for food and drink asset maintenance, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are available.
Planned Maintenance : Conduct scheduled maintenance for food processing and packaging machinery to keep operations running smoothly.
Predictive Maintenance : Use condition-based monitoring techniques to assess and predict the performance of assets, helping to avoid potential issues.
Breakdown Response : Swiftly address equipment breakdowns by performing corrective actions to restore functionality and minimize downtime.
Fault Identification and Resolution : Diagnose and address issues in electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, automation, and pneumatic systems within processing and packaging equipment.
Machinery Changeovers : Lead or support operational teams in the setup and changeover of machinery, ensuring smooth transitions in production.
Component Repair and Manufacture : Fabricate or repair parts to maintain the efficiency and longevity of processing and packaging assets.
Continuous Improvement : Participate in projects aimed at optimizing machinery and processes, including investigating failures and implementing engineering solutions to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Technical Performance Reviews : Collaborate with stakeholders to review equipment performance and implement improvements.
Documentation : Accurately maintain records of all maintenance activities to support compliance and ongoing operational improvement.
Equipment Availability : Ensure that all necessary tools and maintenance equipment are accessible and in good working order.
Audit Participation : Support internal and external audits, providing documentation and expertise to demonstrate compliance with industry standards.
About you.
• Experience working in a FMCG manufacturing maintenance environment, • C&G / EAL NVQ Level 3 / 4 or OAL FDEM Diploma, who are qualified in the Current Edition of IET Wiring Regulations • C&G Level 3 • Knowledge of all Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and procedures • Experience of planning works, writing reports and verifying assets to meet performance criteria • The ability to read and adhere to site SOPs, • Ideally, you'll have recent CMMS experience and an electrical bias What you'll receive.
