Berry Leominster is a polythene extrusion plant which manufactures agricultural films.The business is currently recruiting for a Shift Engineer working 12 hours shifts on a 2 days / 2 nights rota basis.This role is to support the shift with all repairs covering a wide range of equipment, services, systems and buildings associated with the running of a large manufacturing site.
Qualifications Time served apprenticeship (or equivalent) and have a recognised qualification in a related discipline or equivalentExperience of working in a production maintenance environment Proactive and dynamic approach to health, safety and environmental situationsHNC or Degree level qualification in an Engineering disciplineExcellent IT skillsProven track record in production engineeringFlexible, highly motivated and driven with the ability to prioritise own workloadExcellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills Be a confident team player Responsibilities Duties and ResponsibilitiesFixing machine faults as part of a normal shift activityFast response to line breakdowns affecting production and liaising extensively with the Shift ManagerCarrying out preventative maintenance activities and routine safety inspections or as directed by the Engineering ManagerFault finding and diagnostics in reactive breakdown or planned situationsPlanned preventative maintenance on a variety of production machinery to include extruders and site servicesEnsure all breakdowns are dealt with promptly and efficiently whilst ensuring that all PPM schedules are maintainedSupport project developmentFollow and encourage stringent HSE and standard company practicesInvolve specialists when necessary to resolve complex situationsUnderstand the importance of accurate and clear written records, maintaining documentation to a high standardProvide a written report on a shift basis for Job Applicants
