Position: Sheet Metal Worker Location: Cheltenham Salary: £20.00 per hour Shift: Day Shift, 40 hours per week Overview: our client is seeking a highly skilled Sheet Metal Worker with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
This role involves working with various sheet metal processes to form, adjust, and assemble precision components.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience using specialized tools and equipment to shape and finish metal parts to exacting standards.
Key Responsibilities: Cut, bend, and form sheet metal components using both manual and powered tools such as shears, brakes, and presses.
Adjust and shape formed components using English wheels, shrink/stretchers, rollers, crimpers, and mallets to achieve the required contours and finish.
Read and interpret complex engineering and technical drawings to fabricate parts to precise specifications.
Operate sheet metal machinery, including press brakes, guillotines, rollers, and CNC equipment.
Assemble and fit sheet metal parts, ensuring all components meet the required dimensions and quality standards.
Perform routine maintenance and setup of fabrication equipment to ensure smooth operation.
Collaborate with production and design teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency in meeting project timelines.
Conduct quality inspections of finished products, checking for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to tolerances.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines and maintaining organized tools and workspaces.
Required Skills and Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in sheet metal fabrication, including cutting, bending, shaping, and adjusting components.
Proficiency in using specialized tools such as English wheels, shrink/stretchers, rollers, crimpers, and mallets for precision shaping.
Strong ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints.
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity, with an eye for detail and precision.
Experience working with various materials such as aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Basic knowledge of CNC machinery is a plus but not essential.
