Role Summary We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our busy Sewing Room team!
In this role, you'll support the provision of an efficient, full Sewing Room service to include uniform issues, alterations & repairs and bespoke manufacturing services to Trust staff, patients, Linen Services Department service users and the general public.
Our Linen Services Department is a key function within the Estates and Facilities Division, processing circa , items of healthcare linen per week, servicing NHS Trusts and Units across the South West area.

More detail about the role This role involves undertaking general repairs on a variety of linen items, application of labels and issuing uniform to members of staff.
There will be a requirement to carry out repairs or alterations to garments/items belonging to staff, patients or the general public, as well as manufacturing a small range of personalised gifts.
A key aspect of the role is the need to operate an embroidery machine to manufacture items from patterns and proven skills in sewing/alteration tasks.
What We're Looking For: You'll work as part of a small team of experienced individuals: this job is perfect for someone with a hands-on approach, a keen eye and strong attention to detail.
A familiarity in the use of electronic sewing machines & equipment, preferably in an industrial environment, would be advantageous.
Maintaining records on PC based office software and use of e-mail, therefore a minimum basic level of IT skills is essential.
Adaptability and Teamwork; a flexible attitude, ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
Being comfortable interacting and conversing with all levels of clinical staff and members of the public, either over the telephone or in person, therefore a good level of interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
