Starting Qualifications: Formal engineering qualification.
Current driving licence without disqualification, and UK/EU Passport.
Previous administration, organisational and multi-tasking skills.
Health & Safety qualification or experience.
Essential Experience: Proven experience with a minimum of 4 years as a Process Cooling Service Engineer, specialising in breakdowns, fault finding, repair, and commissioning of process cooling systems.
You are proficient in performing on-site breakdowns, commissioning, and maintenance of process cooling systems.
You ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with design specifications and industry standards.
Strong knowledge of process cooling systems, including refrigeration principles, electrical and mechanical components, and control systems.
Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
Have a deep understanding of the principles and mechanics behind cooling systems.
This includes knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer principles.
Familiar with each component of a cooling system.
Capable of assisting in designing and optimising cooling systems for various applications.
This involves sizing components appropriately, assisting to create pipework specifications and ensuring proper integration with other system elements.
Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting issues within cooling systems, such as leaks, pump failures, pressure irregularities, or inefficient heat transfer.
Skilled in implementing maintenance schedules to ensure the ongoing reliability and efficiency of the system.
Given the evolving nature of technology and regulations in the field of cooling systems, a strong inclination towards continuous learning and staying updated with the latest advancements and best practices would be essential.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering timely and effective solutions.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and reporting skills.
Willingness to travel extensively and work in various industrial settings as required.
Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in field service operations.
Not essential but advantageous: Proficient in industry standard IT.
Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with the sales and project teams to help design process cooling systems that meet customer requirements and can be effectively commissioned and maintained.
Develop comprehensive commissioning packs for new projects, providing clear instructions to the service team to ensure successful system commissioning.
Provide hands-on support to onsite/over-phone service engineers during system commissioning, ensuring proper completion of commissioning paperwork and adherence to design specifications and industry standards.
Additionally, take an active role in commissioning systems yourself, and contribute to training and supporting other engineers in commissioning processes.
Work closely with suppliers to understand commissioning and maintenance requirements for their equipment, conducting factory visits to obtain necessary documentation for service engineers.
Collaborate with customers and internal teams to provide technical support, answer inquiries, and offer guidance on system operation, maintenance, and best practices.
Conduct system performance evaluations, measurements, and analysis to optimise cooling efficiency, energy consumption, and overall system effectiveness.
Maintain accurate records of all service activities, including repairs, maintenance tasks, and commissioning procedures.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, industry regulations, and company policies while working on customer sites.
Train and mentor other technicians on maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning techniques, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
Develop and support our training program, designed to be suitable for all our process cooling service engineers.
Creating material for written and practical training.
Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies in process cooling systems to enhance technical knowledge and expertise.
Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for product and service improvements based on customer feedback and field observations.
