Worker Type: EmployeeD&F Senior Underwriter – London/Home Hybrid Following sustained growth in recent years on an established Property portfolio, we are expanding our Underwriting team and capabilities to lead the next stage in the company's strategic ambitions. The Division is focused on advancing underwriting into the next phase of its evolution through technology-driven capabilities which enhance and support the Underwriter's decisions, whilst advancing the way our business and market operates in the future. The International Markets Property cell is focused on Direct and Facultative property risks within the US and International geographies, placed within the London Wholesale Market and working in direct collaboration with our regional Miami and Dubai offices.
The Opportunity: We have a newly created D&F Senior Underwriter role, offering the opportunity to join an established team empowered to take decisions and working within a collaborative and successful International Markets Division based in London.
Your new role Underwrite insurance risks in alignment with the Business Plan and personal authority to achieve business objectives.Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including customers, brokers, and colleagues, to maximize influence and support business goals.Develop strategic relationships in line with the Business Plan to facilitate the achievement of objectives.Ensure compliance with insurance strategy to mitigate risk and achieve business plan targets.Participate actively in shaping and developing strategy, knowledge, and best practices within the team.Promote the department, division, and company brand positively to leverage brand equity effectively.Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements to meet obligations.Maintain underwriting standards, instructions, and best practices to minimize risk and enhance efficiency.Stay updated on market dynamics and demonstrate market cycle awareness to operate effectively.Motivate and develop the team by demonstrating good leadership behaviors and management best practices to support the achievement of business goals.About You Proven experience in the D&F Property market, demonstrating a clear understanding of industry dynamics.Commercial acumen to grasp key profit drivers and maximize long-term wealth for shareholders.Intermediate proficiency in relevant software, including Excel and other departmental tools.Excellent organizational, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.Good negotiating skills with an innovative approach to underwriting and program design.Why QBE?
