Senior Transport Planner

Thriving in the public sector, our client leads with an adept in-house team proficient in diverse property functions. From civil engineering to project management, they excel across a spectrum of services, including contract management, surveying, asset management, and planning.

As a Senior Transport Planner, you will be responsible for research, development, and implementation of transport policy documents and strategies. You'll engage with stakeholders, manage projects, and contribute to the enhancement of transport systems.

Responsibilities: Research and develop transport policy documents and strategies, engaging with stakeholders through consultation. Respond to transport-related consultations initiated by various bodies, such as Department for Transport, Local Enterprise Partnerships, etc. Produce Business Cases and funding bids for various funding streams. Develop transport improvements in accordance with government guidance. Manage and deliver transport schemes through client and project management, ensuring financial management. Coordinate and monitor projects to achieve targets. Project manage delivery of behaviour change initiatives. Manage traffic survey programs or transport modelling work. Required Qualifications and Experience: Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant Transport Planning field. Working towards Chartered status with a relevant body or equivalent experience. Extensive experience leading projects or works programs. Ability to maintain constructive relationships with team and stakeholders. Good written and verbal communication skills, including report writing. Ability to work in a political environment.
