Senior Technologist - Homeware

We have an opening for a Lead Technologist to join a leading retailer for a 9 month FTC.
The role covers all Homeware and electricals.

Key responsibilities include: • Responsible for supporting the delivery of the Client's Quality Strategy.

• Ensuring the workload of the Tech team is aligned to the achievement of the Technical / Quality KPI's
Team leadership and ways of working:-
In collaboration with the Technical Managers and Lead Technologists:- • Continuously looking at how to improve ways of working to ensure that the Technical team have a best in class reputation both internally and externally
• To create a common approach to addressing key business challenges
• Creating an environment for the Technical team where:-
• Colleagues feel included and engaged in what is happening at strategy level as well as within the Technical team.
There are clear communication channels and regular touch points in place at an individual and team level.

• Each colleague is clear in their role and the part they play in delivering the overall team strategy and KPI's.

• Everyone can develop their skills and capabilities and see opportunities for personal growth.

• Colleagues are supported and coached based on individual strengths, development needs and aspirations.

• Managing a team of Technologists aligned to a division to:-
• Ensure the right prioritisation and allocation of work based on the needs of the business
• Improve team performance and drive efficiency through actively managing team workload distribution, continuously finding ways to make the team more efficient
• Ensuring the team is adhering to the defined divisional Critical Path – addressing any issues or delays to ensure minimal impact
The following when and where required:-
• Fulfil Technical responsibilities for a specific area or category
• Management and maintaining core block libraries
• Fit Model management – relooking at costing, time slots, models
Conformance requirements: • Dealing with all standard commercial approvals.
Identify where escalation to Technical Manager is required e.g.
major fails, cancellation requests, product recalls etc
• Accountable for ensuring all products are compliant.
Managing any departmental specific testing
• Accountable for data management (test reports, fit logs, PLM, gold seals etc) as part of due diligence
• Accountable for logging and dealing with Customer Complaints as required.
Customer Services stakeholder management
• Travel as required to visit supply base (Far East included) to address business requirements
• Being able to manage a team in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
• Effectively responding to challenges and delivering best outcomes for the business
• Attention to detail and good knowledge of all compliance regulations and product safety standards
• Multi product technical knowledge required, specifically Homeware.
