And well do it with the utmost integrity, and in an environment where everyone is seen, heard and feels like they belong.Join Team Amex and let's lead the way together.How will you make an impact in this role?Responsible for coordinating delivery across various workstreams / value streams / other GAR platforms as part of the Modernization initiative enabling teams / trains to coordinate dependencies, help remove impediments, coordinate technical discussions and dependencies, manage / coordinate various kind of testing and be the face of team with external platforms Key ResponsibilitiesSteers execution on defined, program-level goals for medium-to-high complexity programsWorks within and across team(s) to anticipate, track, and resolve risks and impediments to deliverySteers technical program conversations (e.g., relating to architectural approach and system design) and articulates solutions; co-develops and documents solutionParticipates with product and engineering leaders to build implementation roadmapsProvides and consolidates inputs for leadership updates; facilitates meetings with leadership on delivery status and key decisions needed to support project deliveryIdentifies and executes on opportunities for improvements to the delivery process; works with relevant teams to redesign process flowsMentors, guides, and supports Technical Project Managers and other team members as appropriateTracks and interprets relevant OKR/KPIs; identifies key insights & next stepsParticipates in PI planning meetings and other Agile ceremonies for team/teams.
Contributes to prioritization discussions and pressure tests plans for feasibility, capacity, and riskDrives coordination, collaboration, and alignment between Product Owners, Architects, and Engineers to meet regulatory and technical requirementsMonitors and ensures compliance with SDLC standardsFacilitates and plans change management and release management activitiesIdentifies and addresses complex inter-team technical dependencies, bridges gaps in technical managementFollows and instills documentation best practices to ensure designs meet requirementsDrives technical and regulatory consistency across workstreams; develops documentation to ensure ongoing maintenance and development of technical and regulatory solutionsScope of Impact/InfluenceCollaborates with Engineering teams to drive alignment architectural approach and technical strategy to execute deliveryResponsible for tracking delivery, and activities related to medium to high complexity initiatives by adding to design discussions, issue resolution, and removing obstacles to ensure program goals are met.Embraces the Technology SDLC process and role models a continuous improvement mindsetEducation & ExperienceBachelor's Degree in technical discipline or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferredCertifications in project management methodologies is preferred3+ years in program delivery and project managementExperience with Agile/SAFe/Lean methodologies a plusExperience managing multiple initiatives, priorities and teamsHigh-performing BehaviorsIndependently drives work, with some supervision, guidance, and coaching from line manager and senior members of Engineering teamIndependently defines problems and identifies solutions in the face of ambiguityAbility to manage multiple projects across multiple teamsTailors messages and style across stakeholder groupsUnderstands and aligns priorities to the program vision and strategyKnowledge/SkillsTechnical knowledge sufficient to understand and discuss technical challenges and systems designAbility and aptitude to learn new technical skills quickly.Working understanding of major coding languages to track delivery challenges and support solutioningExperience writing technical documentationAbility to manage cross-functional projects with technical deptStrong understanding of organizational, product, and industry standard metrics.
