Role Summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Senior Support Manager to work within the pharmacy department in North Devon District Hospital, Barnstaple.
The post holder will provide operational management, advice and project support to facilitate delivery of the pharmacy department and Trust priorities.
You will form part of the Pharmacy Management team in North Devon, providing high quality business support to Senior Managers and teams within the department as well as taking the lead on a number of specific projects within pharmacy.
This may include supporting delivery plans to achieve quality, financial and performance key performance indicators, contributing to development of business cases and day to day management of operational staffing issues within the pharmacy department.
You should be an enthusiastic and organised individual who has great attention to detail, excellent IT skills and able to work efficiently in a fast pace environment.
The Pharmacy team provides a variety of essential services within the main acute hospital in Barnstaple and to a number of offsite locations including South Molton Community Hospital, Devon Partnership Trust and North Devon Hospice.

More detail about the role You will be educated to a high standard (degree level or equivalent experience) with a Prince 2 Project management qualification or equivalent project management experience.
You will help manage a busy workload providing senior management support to the Associate Director or Pharmacy (Northern), Senior Managers and staff within the Pharmacy department.
Applicants must have good analytical skills and the ability to make decisions at pace while ensuring patients receive a high-quality, safe and efficient service.
You will have excellent communication skills as the post holder will need to develop good working relationships with all staff members across the Pharmacy team and work closely with a range of colleagues including Care Group staff, Medical, Nursing, Finance, HR, Estates and Facilities team and external stakeholders.
You will also work closely with members of the Pharmacy team based in Wonford, Exeter.
Existing knowledge of hospital pharmacy systems would be an advantage for this role.
The post holder will be responsible for their own workload, prioritising multiple tasks and projects appropriately to meet the needs of the Trust and Pharmacy Department priorities delivering to deadlines.
You will be responsible for a variety of duties which include (but not limited to): Pharmacy administration including line management of the Pharmacy Secretary Effective implementation of HR processes within the department Oversee and manage workforce metrics including recruitment processes to ensure effective vacancy management, support for management of pharmacy establishment budget, appraisals, mandatory and statutory training and staff survey results Oversee department HealthRoster management.
Provision of reports as required Support specific project tasks as required Ensure information shared across the pharmacy department, Care Group and other stakeholders as required.
Financial management.
To work with and support the Associate Director of Pharmacy (Northern), Clinical Pharmacy Manager and section managers to provide cohesive management to ensure pharmacy service delivery in line with objectives.
