our client is a small independent structural design consultancy based in Norfolk and have been in operation for more than 10 years.
They are run by experienced chartered engineers who have been working in the structural engineering industry in East Anglia for a number of years.
Due to increasing workload and a desire to build and expand the company they are looking to hire a senior / principal structural design engineer.
You will get experience working on a wide range of structural engineering designs in all major design materials including steel/ RC/ masonry timber etc.
You will work on buildings and structures projects in a wide range of sectors both onshore and offshore.
Your role will involve both hand and computer generated structural analysis and design.
At present their senior technical team includes two Directors and a Senior Principal Engineer.

for this company you will either need a driving licence or be will to get one within 6 months as you will be expected to go on client and site meetings from time to time.
The role will include Preparation of structural analysis and design calculations and reports for complex structures in steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.
Conducting structural condition surveys, generating reports, and developing remedial work schemes.
Project management of own projects, and managing more junior staff to meet project requirements from initial client enquiry and fee proposal preparation stage through to preliminary design, detailed design, drawing and specification preparation, delivery and project completion.
Business management related duties, such as QMS compliance, auditing etc Roads and drainage design experience would be advantageous.
Offshore structural design experience preferred but not essential.
As well as a good basic salary of between £40k and £55k (depending on experience) you will also receive: 25 days per annum plus UK bank holidays (additional holiday accrued based on a time served basis up to a maximum of 30 days per annum), Pension, annual performance related bonus, work related travel cost reimbursement.
