Job summary Are you enthusiastic, well motivated and want to add value and make a difference to the lives' of children and young people?We have an exciting opportunity for those wishing to work within the role of Senior Staff Nurse within Child & Adolescent Mental Health Tier 4 Inpatient Unit.Ty Llidiard is a 15 bedded tier 4 General Adolescent Mental Health Unit with a high care area, serving the population of South Wales.
The unit has a full multi-disciplinary team, with a range of medical, nursing and therapeutic posts.
The unit assesses and works with young people between the ages of 12 and 18 who live in South, Mid and West Wales and who are experiencing psychiatric disorders such as anorexia nervosa, clinical depression, self-harming behaviours and early onset psychosis.
The successful applicant will work as part of a large multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of care and treatment for children and young people.The successful applicant will be required to work a full shift pattern, rostered to work on weekdays and weekends.
Standard hours are hours for early (7am - 3pm) and late shift (1pm - 9pm), 10 hours 43 minutes for a night shift (8:22 pm - 7:35 am) Main duties of the job To support the Ward Manager in the day to day operational management of the ward, including management of junior staffs' sickness, annual leave, and time in lieu.
To function as part of a large multi-disciplinary team, providing a quality therapeutic service to tier 4 patients and their families.
To work within the Multi-disciplinary Team, providing a holistic treatmentpackage for young people.
To provide debriefing sessions and support to staff, following receive regular clinical supervision and partake in reflective practice toensure that a high standard of nursing care is maintained at all work in a flexible manner, undertaking shift work as required, in a variety of settings, to ensure adequate service provision and effective patient care.
Shifts are varied and determined by patient manage and co-ordinate the duties for the nursing team on duty including co-ordination of shifts.
The post holder will prioritise and delegate appropriate tasks to junior staff, liaising with other professionals and providing accurate shift handover.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
