An exciting opportunity exists for progressive forward-thinking Senior Staff nurses to join our high-performing and enthusiastic team in the Urgent Treatment Centre based currently at the Royal London Hospital.
We are proud to be rated GOOD by the CQC and consistently achieve above 95% for the 4-hour KPI.

We have some of the wealthiest companies and some of the most deprived communities in an area of less than 8 square miles, where we house 325,000 residents.
The Urgent Treatment Centre sees approximately 280 patients per day for face-to-face appointments.
We provide NHS111 direct booking telephone appointments during the day for patients with an Urgent care disposition.
These important patient encounters make us one of the busiest in the country.
We also provide out-of-hours GP cover for our borough.
We are co-located to the Emergency Department of the acute trust where we have established close working relationships.

Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be a shift leader on a regular basis, assisting the multi-disciplinary team to provide safe care to our patients in a timely manner, ensuring our KPIs are continued to be met.
Promoting best practice in health, safety, and security, independently clerking some patients with minor problems once training has been provided.
The post holder will have all the necessary experience to notice patient deterioration and respond quickly and safely during emergency situations.
Taking part in clinical teaching sessions and onward education, developing own knowledge and that of others.

Job responsibilitiesWork closely with the General Practitioners and Advanced Nurse Practitioners in early senior assessment, instigating investigations when required at the earliest opportunity to help with flow.Act as role model for the Nursing and Health Care Assistant team.Recognise the deteriorating patient and respond in emergency situations.Assist with general nursing duties such as venepuncture, ECG, and urine dipstick.Ensure infection control standards are upheld and act as a champion.Ensure that stock and medications are monitored and available.Ensure clinical equipment is clean and working.Act as patient advocate, providing information and advice and chaperoning patients when required.Person SpecificationKnowledgeEvidence of working in a high-pressured environment such as ED/UTC/WIC/GP.Personal and People DevelopmentAbility to demonstrate teaching skills.QualificationsNMC registered with 2 years post reg experience.ExperienceEvidence of coordinating/leading an area on a regular basis and escalating patients as appropriate.Skills and AbilitiesDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£44,806 to £53,134 a year inclusive of HCAS.
