Position: Senior Specification Engineer Reports to: Head of Innovation Role Overview: The Senior Specification Engineer will provide technical and CAD support to Engineering Consultants, Contractors and Asset owners for all Infrastructure Products Europe businesses.
The role will focus on utilising IPE products to optimise and improve designs in line with client needs be it sustainability, design assurance, buildability, speed.
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities: Key Accountabilities: Create detailed designs of buried cable routes and utilities (AutoCAD) utilising IPE products.
Work with design engineers and contractors to refine and optimise existing designs.
Carry out structural calculations in relation to IPE Products.
Liaise with the IPE Commercial teams to provide technical and product support.
Build upon and expand the current IPE BIM/Digital Construction Library.
Engage with CAD platforms to ensure IPE products are industry-recognised.
Work alongside technical managers within the business to develop the company's sustainability offering.
Monthly reporting to the Commercial Department.
Learning and adapting civils and ground calculations and rules behind it.
Meet all financial performance objectives for area of responsibility and take corrective action as needed.
Assisting with new product development, technical specifications, and literature.
Advise on installation and industry best practice with regards to IPE Products.
Guide and lead contractors with installation instructions.
Associated Responsibilities: Actively and consistently recommend and support all efforts to improve, simplify, automate, and enhance day to day service delivery operations and the client experience.
Continuously monitor industry trends and best practices related to specification development and implementation.
Participate in meetings with clients to discuss specifications, address concerns, and provide updates on project status.
All other duties as deemed necessary by the Head of Innovation.
Experience, Training & Essential Criteria: A background in Autodesk AutoCAD, ideally Revit and/or Civil 3D.
Experienced in designing and specifying underground utilities and services within civil engineering projects.
Knowledge of Structural Engineering Standards.
Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to specification development.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
Proven track record of delivering high-quality work within established timelines and budget constraints.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
Essential Criteria: Civil Engineering degree, BEng(Hons), Meng (Hons), or equivalent.
