Senior Software Engineer - Linux Kernel

'Wherever Computing Happens', we need to enable Arm by providing software solutions that interface higher-level software stacks with the hardware itself.
Job Overview: Responsibilities: Our Open-Source Software group is enabling new Arm architecture in projects such as kernel, firmware, system control and driver development, for a variety of target markets.
Software on Arm must be fast, efficient, and secure, and support the very latest Arm architectural features and standards.
We're looking for software engineers with experience of writing low-level C code, standards-based firmware, tooling, and operating system design who enjoy working as part of the wider open-source community.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include: Being a member of the core arm64 Linux Kernel team responsible for maintaining the upstream Linux port and user space tools Review code on public mailing list and upstream code to various Linux subsystems including perf Actively work on improving performance and security of upstream Linux Kernel on modern arm64 hardware Support our kernel maintainers by helping reduce technical debt and review burden of various subsystems Do investigations of new architecture features and how they can used by Linux Upstream support for new architecture features Required Skills and Experience : Proficient C programmer Desire and ability to work as part of a team and the Linux community Strong understanding of operating system fundamentals Credible experience of developing sophisticated low level software "Nice To Have" Skills and Experience : Armv8-A Architecture Arm64 assembly language Proficient in Linux Memory Management and Virtualisation Credible experience of working in the Linux upstream In Return: Our Cambridge offices are amazing places to collaborate.
