You will be joining a department that covers the end-to-end of development from design through to testing, deployment, and support.Responsibilities:Gathering requirements from in-house subject matter experts and Product Owners to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software and applications.Working with the senior engineering team to design and implement new capabilities within the product.Conducting design reviews on existing code with a view to identifying ways to improve performance, security, robustness and maintainability.Ensuring new software meets requirements of quality, security and performance.Info about the product: Service orientated microservice architectureServices written primarily in Java17 and Spring with some services written in NodeJSFrontend built with Typescript and ReactBacked by several datastores including ElasticSearch, MongoDB and and PostgreSQLBuild and deployment using Github Actions and Drone with SonarCloudDeployed to Kubernetes clusters running on AWS infrastructure.What we're looking for: Several years' experience working with the relevant tech stack (as above).Strong knowledge of software design principles and micro-services architectures.Strong record of delivering software solutions.Strong communication skillsDesire to mentor other developers.Familiarity with DevOps processes and Kubernetes are desirable.Experience with Git, Slack, Jira, and Drone are all beneficial.Familiarity with Linux environments.If you're interested in a new, exciting opportunity with a successful and growing company (globally), and live local to Edinburgh, please apply!
