Job Title: Senior Software Engineer Contract Type: Permanent Location: Edinburgh or Alderley Park Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based Closing date: 4th December 2024 We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Royal London.
In this role, you will play a crucial role in providing deep technical expertise to help our teams design, develop, test, implement and support efficient solutions that meet business and customer requirements.
This role is focussed within our Protection Application stack and contributes to our purpose of strengthening the mutual choice for our customers, by providing the best technology solutions to our customers.
About the role Develops complex solutions within own area of technical expertise.
Carries out impact assessment of complex changes to existing applications.
Documents and agrees design in advance and to agreed standards.
Takes responsibility that all code meets Group standards, guidelines and quality gates for given technology.
All code is thoroughly tested to ensure any issues are identified as early as possible, working closely with the test team.
Will safely implement solutions to production environment(s).
Collaborates closely with other members of the team.
Contributes to software development practice by sharing ideas and experience.
Will participate in code reviews of others' work.
About you Enterprise development experience with .Net (C#) is essential.
Experience of the full software development lifecycle, and an awareness of agile development practices.
Technical knowledge of one or more programming languages.
Can work without supervision.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Keen to continue to develop technical skills in ever emerging technology stacks.
