Job Description We are currently working on behalf of an established charity to recruit a Senior Social Worker into their established team in South Wales.
This role involves supervising a dedicated team of social work assistants and providing crucial advice and support to clients and their dependents.
You will be a key player in promoting our services locally and cultivating partnerships with other agencies.
This is an office-based role with local travel expected Details: \n \n Job Title: Senior Social Worker \n Location: Office based in Pontypridd with regular local travel \n Salary: £40,000 \n Job Type: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hrs) \n \n Key Responsibilities: \n \n Lead and manage the personal welfare team for the Wales region, ensuring high-quality, outcomes-focused service for clients and their dependants.
\n Effectively manage casework, including allocation and case management, fostering efficiency and excellence.
\n Handle a small caseload of clients, conducting quality assessments and providing appropriate interventions such as welfare benefits advice, advocacy, emotional support, and practical advice.
\n Drive service performance and improvement, proactively addressing any performance or practice issues.
\n Support the team through supervision, appraisal, case reviews, and observations, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
\n Act as the safeguarding lead for the region, advising and supporting team members to ensure adherence to organisational safeguarding policies.
\n Manage the delivery of interventions, predominantly through a home visiting service, addressing welfare benefits, mobility, social isolation, and financial issues.
\n Stay updated on relevant legislation and good practices, sharing information across the team and the wider organisation.
\n \n Experience/ Qualifications: \n \n A degree in social work or equivalent social work qualification and current professional registration \n Experience of leading/managing a team with the ability to manage & effectively prioritise caseloads \n Experience of community-based social care services with experience of delivery with older people and / or disability services \n Knowledge and understanding of the values and principles underpinning working with vulnerable adults and their carers within the community setting, \n Knowledge of relevant legislation and good practice, particularly concerning older people, mental health and disability \n Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with good judgement and logical decision-making ability \n A valid driving license and access to own vehicle \n \n Benefits: \n \n Career Development: Various career paths, recognising hard work and supporting your progression into senior roles.
